The To Do List is the heart and soul of operations in OmniTrader Xpress. This function collects the data for all the symbols, updates the OmniScan lists and runs the analysis to find Signals all in one operation.
The To Do List can be accessed by clicking on the button located on your top toolbar right above your Focus List.You can also go to View and select To Do List from the menu at the top. In the To Do list window you will see three different boxes that can be checked.
The first box, “Download Historical and Current Price Data”, will download the data for all of the symbols in the database to allow you to pull up a current chart on any symbol in OmniData.
The second, “Update OmniScan List”, updates your OmniScan to the correct symbols based on the criteria of the individual OmniScan list. Below this you can select whether you want it to update just those OmniScan lists that you are using in this profile or all of OmniScan lists in the database. You can also choose to run the analysis for only the list currently showing in your Focus List or for all OmniScan lists that you have selected for this profile.
The third box, “Run analysis”, takes the data that has been collected so far and then tests to find good candidates and generate long and short Signals for the Strategies.
It is typical to have all three of the boxes checked and then click the Perform Selected Tasks button at the bottom to have it perform all three actions in order. You can use the Now button to perform only one action at a time or uncheck one or more boxes if you want to only perform a certain action.
The To Do List can be run at any time during the day and should always be done prior to looking through the Focus List for good candidates.
