OmniTrader Xpress generates Signals to bring attention to hot trading prospects in your list. These Signals are found in the Sig column in your Focus List.

The Green Triangle indicates that the applied Trading Strategy has generated a long Signal. This means OmniTrader Xpress found a possible opportunity for a long position.

The Red Triangle indicates that the applied Trading Strategy has generated a short Signal. This means OmniTrader Xpress found a potential opportunity for a short position.
The columns in the Focus List can be sorted to bring the Signals to the top of the list for quick prospecting. Double-click on the Sig Column to sort by Signal. Bringing all the Signals to the top of the list will speed up prospecting.

OmniTrader Xpress is set up to show Signals on the current bar of data. However, you do have the option to view Signals that have been generated on previous day’s bars as well. Click on Tools, Options and set the Lookback for Signal to the number of bars you would like to see Signals on. You will find the option at the bottom of the window under Signal Options.

Notice in this example the Lookback for Signal option is set to 3 bars. This means that the Focus List will reflect all the Signals that were generated over the last 3 bars. Note: If you have the option set to show Signals generated over previous bars, it is advisable to have the bars column added to your Focus List so that you know exactly what bar the Signal was generated on. You will find more information on adding columns to your Focus List in the Editing Your Focus List article.
Once a Signal is generated by OmniTrader Xpress, further confirmation should be used to determine whether or not a trade should be taken. You can learn more about confirming your OmniTrader Xpress Signals in upcoming lessons.
Best of luck with your trading!
